Ashton advises companies, founders and investors on corporate and commercial matters throughout the business lifecycle, with a particular focus on clean technology, energy transition, carbon capture, utilization and storage (CCUS) and other climate and ESG-related industries.
He supports clients on the legal and commercial issues that shape how innovative companies are built, financed and scaled, including entity formation and structuring, financings, strategic partnerships, shareholder agreements, equity incentive plans and commercial agreements that support technology development, deployment and revenue generation, including sales, X-as-a-Service, licensing, offtake, manufacturing, consulting, employment, non-disclosure and carbon credit agreements, as well as other bespoke commercial arrangements. He also assists clients with securities law compliance, the purchase and sale of businesses and the resolution of commercial disputes.
